This journey involves travel to high altitudes (up to 3,100 meters at Gangotri). While no strenuous trekking is required, a basic level of fitness is recommended. We ascend gradually to allow for acclimatization. If you plan to do the optional Gaumukh trek, good physical fitness is essential.

Best Time for This Journey
April - June (Spring/Early Summer)
Clear skies, pleasant temperatures, and blooming rhododendrons make this an ideal time. Gangotri Temple opens in late April/early May. Daytime temperatures are comfortable, though nights can be cold at high altitudes.
September - October (Post-Monsoon)
Crystal clear mountain views after the monsoon rains. Comfortable temperatures and stable weather. This is peak pilgrimage season, so some sites may be busier. Gangotri Temple closes in early November for winter.
Note: Gangotri is not accessible in winter (November-April) due to heavy snow. This journey is offered from late April through October only.
